The journey to the Lexus Melbourne Cup continues with the $300,000 Listed Lexus Andrew Ramsden (2800m), with the winner earning a coveted golden ticket to the 2026 Lexus Melbourne Cup.

Andrew Ramsden (1934 - 2013) made a significant impact on the VRC, serving on the Committee for 21 years and holding positions such as Honorary Treasurer, Vice Chairman, and Chairman (1998 - 2003).

This race is named in honour of his contributions to the VRC and his passion for staying races.
