British superstar Craig David to perform at Flemington on Crown Oaks Day

It will be Craig’s only public performance in Melbourne in 2025, with the UK-based star set to fly into Australia following a successful UK arena tour.

The singer-songwriter took the global music stage by storm in 1999 when he released his incredibly successful debut studio album, Born To Do It.  Over his 25-year career Craig has continued to make waves across the globe and has become one of the most successful artists in UK chart history.  He has had a string of worldwide hits including Walking Away, 7 Days and Fill Me In.  In August 2025, Craig released his ninth studio album, Commitment. 

As a global, chart-topping sensation, Craig has amassed over 5 billion streams worldwide and received 14 BRIT Award nominations, two GRAMMY nominations and most recently an MBE for his services to music. 

VRC Chief Executive Officer Kylie Rogers said Craig David is an exceptional fit for Crown Oaks Day.

“The Melbourne Cup Carnival is known for hosting some of the world’s most entertaining performers and we can’t wait for Craig to bring his unique British sound and energy to the Live Stage in The Elms on Crown Oaks Day,” Kylie Rogers said

Craig first came to Australia in 2001 and was last on our shores in 2022.  This will be Craig’s second time performing at the Melbourne Cup Carnival.  

‘Some of my favourite memories have been made in Australia.  I love the energy and passion Australian crowds bring and I am so excited to be back performing at Flemington on Crown Oaks Day,” Craig David said. 

He will also perform at the annual VRC Crown Oaks Club Lunch on Wednesday 5 November.

This year, the world-class entertainment precinct, The Elms moves to the end of the straight at Flemington, just past the winning post.  Here, major headline performers, including Craig David will take to the Stage and event goers can enjoy all the action for the price of a General Admission entry ticket.  To celebrate Craig’s performance announcement, a special 7-day ticket offer is now available with Crown Oaks Day General Admission tickets $27 until 11.59pm, Thursday 11 September.

The 2025 Melbourne Cup Carnival commences with Victoria Derby Day on Saturday 1 November followed by Lexus Melbourne Cup Day on Tuesday 4 November, Crown Oaks Day on Thursday 6 November and TAB Champions Stakes Day on Saturday 8 November.
