The highly anticipated move will see Crown bring its world-class hospitality trackside to Australia’s most prestigious precinct to host business leaders, media, sports stars, celebrities, corporate partners and Crown members throughout the Cup Carnival.
The announcement builds on Crown’s exclusive partnership with the VRC as the official hospitality services partner, bringing the very best of Crown’s culinary offering to Flemington. Over the past year, Crown has delivered 25 race days, and more than 100 non-race day events that have seen over 104,000 glasses of Mumm champagne, 64,000 chicken sandwiches and 41,000 oysters enjoyed.
Crown Melbourne CEO Mike Volkert said: “Crown has had a marquee presence at Flemington for many years, but we couldn’t be more excited to relocate to the heart of the Melbourne Cup Carnival in 2023 by joining the Birdcage Enclosure.
“With entertainment part of our DNA, we look forward to creating an experience that brings together the very best of hospitality, entertainment, and racing under one roof. The Crown Birdcage Marquee will be the place to be this Cup Carnival – and we can’t wait to share what we’ve got planned very soon,” Mr Volkert said.
VRC CEO Steve Rosich said the club was looking forward to welcoming Crown Melbourne to the Birdcage Enclosure as part of an enhanced partnership.
