26 May 2023 Written by VRC

A trio of sprint stars in Coolangatta, Cannonball and Artorious will be at Flemington on Monday for a 900m straight-track jump out as they continue their preparation towards international glory at Royal Ascot.

The VRC will host the special jump out at 7:30am in support of Australia’s quest for more success at Royal Ascot.

Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning (1000m) winner Coolangatta is current favourite for the King’s Stand Stakes (1000m) on Tuesday 20 June.

Exciting colt Cannonball will also contest the King’s Stand Stakes giving Flemington-based trainers Peter and Paul Snowden their first runner at Royal Ascot with jockey Brett Prebble aboard.

Artorious will be put through his paces ahead of another international campaign for fellow Flemington-based trainers Anthony and Sam Freedman. He will contest the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes (1200m) on Saturday 24 June at Royal Ascot before retiring to stud in Australia. Champion jockey James McDonald will partner Artorious in the jump out and has been booked to ride both Coolangatta and Artorious in their UK preparations.

Pacific Fury and Field of Flutes will also take part alongside their stablemate Coolangatta.
