The Birdcage is a showcase of creativity and innovation, and this year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival raises the bar yet again. From immersive brand experiences to luxurious escapes and vibrant celebrations, we take a look at exactly what guests will enjoy.

G.H. Mumm

G.H. Mumm, renowned for its extravagant Birdcage marquees, once again pushes the boundaries of luxury with its ‘Now Boarding’ theme. This year’s marquee is their largest to date, featuring a never-before-seen structure and opulent details. Officially opened by Olympian Emma McKeon AM with the iconic champagne ‘Tap Tap’, inside guests will find an invite-only G.H. Mumm Private Jet dining experience curated by Victor Churchill’s Anthony Puharich and a luggage carousel overflowing with caviar and champagne.

TAB

TAB, the official naming rights partner of TAB Champions Stakes Day, is bringing the betting action right into the Birdcage with a dedicated retail space in their revamped marquee. Broadcasting the Lexus Melbourne Cup to a global audience of 68 countries, the two-storey marquee also features a bespoke studio for racing media reports, and prime track views from the balcony.

Crown

Returning as the Oaks Day naming sponsor, Crown has returned to The Birdcage with a three-storey marquee in a prime corner position. Blending contemporary interiors and culinary delights by Guillaume Brahimi, the marquee promises a vibrant atmosphere. Guests will be able to try the Marmont cocktail, a taste of Crown Melbourne’s soon-to-open venue, and can also have a touch-up at the pamper station hosted by Joey Scandizzo and Jade Kisnorbo.

Lexus

The VRC’s Principal Partner, Lexus, presents the future of luxury with LANDMARK by Lexus, a three-level entertainment pavilion celebrating 35 years of innovation. Collaborations with designer Brahman Perera, September Studio, Atlas Dining’s Charlie Carrington, Tarts Anon, and St Remio coffee offer a sophisticated multi-sensory experience. Sustainability is highlighted with the pavilion’s Future Catalyst 35 theme.

Penfolds

Penfolds celebrates 180 years with a Nigo-designed marquee boasting the longest bar in The Birdcage, pouring a vast selection of wines and signature cocktails. A ‘Tasting Cube’ offers pairings of Penfolds Grange 2020 with delectable bites, while guests will receive bespoke silk twills by artist Rikki Day. For the lucky few who roll 180 on a dice, a secret bar awaits.

Furphy

For its seventh year as the VRC’s official beer partner, the Furphy marquee returns to The Birdcage, bringing a true taste of Victoria with it. This year, they’ve transformed their space into a two-storey Victorian-style pub, complete with a spacious central atrium for prime viewing of all the racing action. The marquee also offers a glimpse into Furphy’s heritage, with a timeline of the family history and framed pictures honouring 30 iconic Victorian pubs.

Nine

As the official broadcaster of the Melbourne Cup Carnival, Nine’s marquee blends racing, fashion, and art and has a flowing design that is inspired by Nine’s iconic dots. Highlights include a striking painting of Verry Elleegant by Nicole Slater, sweeping views of the track from upstairs, and a bar called ‘The Snug’ downstairs, offering a luxurious escape.

Club Rosado: By Don Julio & 1942 Bar

Don Julio’s Club Rosado is a pink-hued party haven. Guests can dial the Rosado Phone Box for entry and enjoy the Rosado Glitterati service. Hidden within is the exclusive Don Julio 1942 Tequila Bar, a luxurious tasting cave.

The Pamper Lounge by Runway Room

Runway Room’s Birdcage debut provides a haven for racegoers seeking a quick beauty refresh. Founder Alex Fevola and her team will be offering touch-ups to keep everyone looking radiant throughout the day.

Lucky’s

The VRC’s Lucky’s returns with a glamorous lounge bar vibe. Guests will enjoy food from Lucky’s Chop House and the Lucky Shake prepared by the Crawley Shaker. Go-go dancers and a DJ will complete the ultimate party experience.
