General Public

Whilst there are no dress regulations for general public ticket holders, we encourage racegoers to dress suitably, don your favourite racewear, dress to impress and be comfortable.

General Public areas include The Front Lawn (including DiDi Mates Rates and Club Lawn Reserved), TAB Saintly Place Sports Bar, The Park and The Hill Stand.

Members Enclosure

Attending a race day is an opportunity to dress in your finest and favourite racewear and express your own unique fashion style. With this in mind, please be aware that Members Dress Regulations apply in the Members Enclosure. The Club reserves the right to deny entry or remove anyone deemed inappropriately dressed.

The Members Enclosure includes The Club Stand, The Grandstand, the Members Lawn, the Members Betting Ring, the Members Car Parks and The Birdcage.

Please note: It is the responsibility of the person booking the tickets to ensure their guests adhere to the dress regulations.

Ladies & Gentlemen

GENTLEMEN (INCLUDING CHILDREN 12 AND OVER)
Gentlemen are required to wear a suit, or tailored pants (tailored chinos and tailored leather pants are acceptable), tailored shorts on or below the knee, sports coat or blazer and a collared dress shirt, plus tie or bow tie and dress shoes.

LADIES (INCLUDING CHILDREN 12 AND OVER)
Ladies are expected to maintain a suitable dress standard in keeping with the distinction of the Members Enclosure.

Overseas visitors are welcome to wear their national attire. 


NOT ACCEPTABLE:

  • Short jumpsuits, playsuits, shorts that are above the knee
  • Garments that show the belly button
  • Garments with an open back below the waist
  • Bralettes and bandeau crop tops
  • Any form of the following footwear: joggers, sports shoes, track shoes, runners, slippers, dilapidated footwear, gumboots, or thongs.
  • Jeans, jodhpurs, tracksuits, or untailored pants
  • Pants tucked into socks or footwear
  • Torn or ripped clothing even if considered ‘designer’ tears
  • Leggings worn as pants. Footless tights acceptable if suitable dress worn over the top
  • Parkas, duffle coats, windbreakers, tracksuit tops, golf and yachting weatherproof jackets, denim jackets, casual or untailored leather jackets, anoraks, and Driza-Bone (oilskin) jackets
  • Strictly no denim

 

Corporate Hospitality & Dining

LADIES & GENTLEMEN (INCLUDING CHILDREN OVER 12 YEARS)

Gentlemen are required to wear a suit of tailored slacks (tailored chinos or tailored shorts on or below the knee is acceptable), sports coat or blazer, plus tie and dress shoes. 

Ladies are expected to maintain a suitable standard of racewear attire. Key items of clothing that are not acceptable include short jumpsuits/playsuits and shorts or short suits that are above the knee, garments that show the belly button, including bralettes and bandeau crop tops.

Overseas visitors are welcome to wear the formal national dress of their country.

CHILDREN

Younger children must be neatly dressed and accompanied by an adult.

All owners attending Flemington Racecourse wishing to access the Members' Enclosure, the Mounting Yard and the TAB Owners and Trainers Lounge will need to ensure they comply with the Members Dress Regulations.

Within the Members Enclosure, children 12 and over are expected to maintain a suitable dress standard in keeping with the members dress regulations document listed on this page.

There are no specified dress code regulations for General Public.

The Members Enclosure includes The Club Stand, The Grandstand, the Members Front Lawn, The Members Betting Ring, the Members Reserved Car Parks, and The Birdcage.

Within these areas, attendees are required to dress accordingly in line with the Members Dress Regulations.

If attending the Members Enclosure, it is the responsibility of the person booking the tickets to ensure their guests adhere to the Members Dress Regulations.

Any of the following footwear, is not permitted within the Members Enclosure: joggers, sports shoes, track shoes, runners, slippers, dilapidated footwear, gumboots, or thongs.

Check the weather forecast and dress accordingly. Layering can be a smart choice for unpredictable weather.

There are several cloakrooms on-course which would allow you to check coats, umbrellas, or any additional items for unplanned weather changes.
