Tough staying race. BLUESTONE (8) is nothing if not consistent. He's been right there in all three runs this campaign, finding the line well again at Caulfield last time out in a BM78. Off a let up for this, the switch to Flemington should be in his favour and he gets in very light. XTRA RUSH (6) was overrun by THE WESTERN FRONT (4) when they clashed at Caulfield over 2400m. They started similar prices, Xtra Rush just having to work a bit early to find the top which told late. Both have winning claims again. FLAMIN' ROMANS (5) is off a let up through the Bluestone race when battling as a $3.60 chance. He can bounce back. KURAKKA (9) was third to The Western Front at Caulfield last time and is in the mix off that.
Second-up. First-up after four months 10th of 12 at Terang Hcp on April 12 over 2150m, in the wet; 21 len behind Alder carrying 62kg at $51. Previously second-up 6th of 12 at this track in the G3 Archer Stks on September 13 over 2500m, 2.25 len behind Revelare with 56.5kg at $11. See again.
Second run back. First-up after nine months 2nd in a small field at Hamilton Hdle on April 7 over 3200m, slow going long-neck behind Point Nepean with 66kg at $2.05. Previously second-up got back early 6th of 11 at this track in the LR Roy Higgins on March 29 2025 over 2600m, 7 len behind Deakin with 56kg at $151. Good enough on the flat but this is probably a tune up.
Last start 5th of 12 at this track in the LR Roy Higgins on March 28 over 2600m, on a slow track; 2.5 len behind Whisky On The Hill carrying 56kg at $31. The start before that second last of 7 at Caulfield Bm84 on March 14 over 2000m, 5.5 len behind Stylish Secret with 58.5kg at $41. Needs to step up.
Racing well recently. Most recently won by 0.8 len at Caulfield Bm78 April 4 over 2400m defeating Vino Novello with 57.5kg at $4.60. The race before that sat on the speed and boxed on steadily 4th of 8 at Rosehill Bm78 on March 14 over 1900m, 3.5 len behind Tazima carrying 57kg at $11. Going well and rates highly.
Returns from a 35-day let-up. Last start 5th of 8 at Caulfield Bm78 on March 21 over 2400m, 7 len behind Zulu Angel carrying 58.5kg at $3.60. The run before that set the pace for much of the race 2nd of 7 at Pakenham in the LR Torney Cup on March 6 over 2500m, 0.8 len behind Bright Legend carrying 54kg at $6.50. Suited this trip and should be competitive.
