Open race. STAR PATROL (4) has a bit of weight to carry but does look to have found his race. He was off a very long spell fresh when edged out by Arkansaw Kid here before a good effort behind War Machine and Bridal Waltz in the G2 Gilgai Stakes last time. War Machine was backed into third favourite for The Everest off that win and there's nothing quite of that class here. HEDGED (10) is an interesting one. He just missed with 59.5kg fresh at Cranbourne behind Jigsaw who has since come out and won at G2 level last week. He drops 5.5kg off that and has to be respected. CABALLUS (5) and LIBERTAD (1) both come through the G3 Sydney Stakes. Caballus was very good coming from a long way back for fifth there while Libertad had the better run finishing just ahead in fourth. Caballus meets him 2kg better off and can turn the tables. WATCHME WIN (8) was poorly weighted in the Gilgai with 58.5kg and raced on the inferior ground. This sets up much better for him.
