Very competitive race but the class lies with WAR MACHINE (1) who resumes off winning the G1 Stradbroke Handicap over the Winter. He was a moral beaten in Listed company fresh that campaign before the winning streak began. This won't be easy with 60kg but he can settle close to the speed out wide and let rip. STAR PATROL (13) resumed off a year-long spell with a very good run in the G2 Bobbie Lewis, leading at an even gallop and giving a good kick when second to Arkansaw Kid. His Flemington 1200m form is excellent as a whole. NADAL (8) resumes off an injury enforced lay off. It's hard to know where he's at but his dominant win at Cranbourne two back rated very highly and J-Mac booked doesn't hurt. ROYAL INSIGNIA (7) didn't have the best run in the Bobbie Lewis but got home well late. Up in the weights not but he's a big price again. LA FRACAS (17) is poorly weighted but is flying and deserves a shot off the picket fence.
